NOSARA, Costa Rica - (06/09/2012) : Nosara public force chief Gerardo Aguilar ties warning tape to block of a street where the town's largest, and code-breaking building stands at risk of collapse due to damage sustained during the earthquake which struck the pacific coast of Costa Rica. An earthquake of 7.6 on the Richter scale struck in the early morning hours of September 5th, 2012 near the city of Nosara, at Cangrejal de Nicoya, damaging buildings up to 40km away from the epicentre, the quake was felt across the region.
